Venue Spotlight – Boulder Ridge Country Club
Boulder Ridge Country Club (BRCC) is a luxurious, premier event place located in the heart of the beautiful village of Lake in The Hills, a Suburb Northwest of Chicago, IL.
WHY DO WE LOVE THIS VENUE?
- Exclusivity – regardless of the size of your event, booking a wedding a BRCC means that you get the entire venue to yourself. They only host one wedding at a time this way, you also get the exclusive attention of the entire team.
- Now a day, many venues offer a coordinator on-site to help facilitate all the logistics from set-up to tear-down so that you don’t have to stress about it. This is cool, but when you book at BRCC, you actually get a wedding planner to work with you 4 weeks prior to your wedding and coordinate the entire day for you. Now you may be thinking “isn’t that the same thing?”, the answer is a loud resounding “NO” and let me briefly tell you why.
A venue coordinator is primarily at the service of the venue. He/ She will oversee the set-up to ensure that you get all that was promised to you in the contract (tables, linens, plates, silverware, votive candles, glassware, etc.), they will help your vendors with questions related to the set-up, they’ll ensure that the meal is served on time, drinks are purred, and you have the space to yourself, in working conditions until the end of the allotted time.

The venue coordinator does not work with your guest list, all they need to know is who’s coming and who’s not (the final headcount), they don’t need to work on a detailed timeline or know what song is playing at every stage of the ceremony and/ or reception, or even when are your hair and makeup professionals coming to get you ready. The venue coordinator minds about the things related to the venue being the ideal place for you to exchange your vows and celebrate.
The wedding planner, however, is more of a personal concierge to you. He/ She is the person who will take care of all the above-mentioned elements and more. He/ She is there to coordinate your wedding rehearsal, to help you with your seating arrangement, to ensure that all guest names are properly printed on escort cards, or that their assigned tables are properly listed on the seating chart, and that there is a label on uncle Joe’s place card telling the caterer that he wants chicken, not shrimp. The wedding planner works with your DJ to cue them, so they know what’s coming next and which song to play, especially at the ceremony, etc.
WHAT’S THE VIBE LIKE?
This venue offers lots of places for you and your bridal party to capture unforgettable moments and can accommodate large groups of up to 350 guests.
A picturesque par 72 golf course boasts 27 holes and multiple tee locations, paved tee-to-green cart paths weave through the entire course, and strategically placed bunkers and ponds enhance the landscape. Beautiful trees, rocks, a bridge, and a gazebo make this a one-of-a-kind site for a memorable event, multiple arches in the architecture of the building offer a couple of spots for romantic shots. The ballroom also gives access to a nicely furnished verandah that can accommodate your group for a post-ceremony cocktail hour.

But wait, for those of you in the corporate world, this venue also features a business meeting facility complete with wireless internet access, a 65″ TV with direct P.C. interface, Audio visual equipment & meeting accessories (rental available), as well as fax and photocopying Services.
ITS CEREMONY & RECEPTION LOCATIONS
There are a couple of options to choose from indoors. There’s the Presidents boardroom which seats up to 16 people, the Weadley room which seats up to 50 people and the Boulder ballroom which seats up to 350 people. The latter space can be divided into three smaller sections to accommodate events of all sizes. For those of you who dream about saying your vows outside, there is also a picturesque outdoor ceremony space overlooking the golf course, a true work of art.

INSIDER TIPS ABOUT THE VENUE
In addition to all the common amenities that most venues offer like the use of the bridal suite, at BRCC you also get a groom suit for the entire day, you get valet Parking on Friday and Saturday nights, you get the use of the 6-seater golf cart to take your guests to the outdoor ceremony site, and to access the golf course and gazebo for bride and groom photos.
The venue has a nicely decorated bridal suite, spacious, clean restrooms for your guests to retouch their makeup, and gorgeous chandeliers in the main ballroom which gives it an elegant and luxurious look, overall, the best place to exchange your vows and celebrate the most meaningful moments of your life.
We absolutely love everything about Boulder Ridge Country Club ! Venue coordinator Sara and her team do an amazing work . They really know how to make a couple and families and friends feel special . However, having a wedding coordinator such as Bijou with Belissima Events brings completeness to the wedding experience. We couldn’t ask for a better team to enjoy our big day after many months of planning. Two thumbs up to this dream team.
